Review: Assassin’s Creed 1

Conclusion

ac back off army Review: Assassins Creed 1

In the end, Assassin's Creed is a great game

Assassin’s Creed is a great start to an amazing series, but fails in a few categories.. Namely it’s repetitiveness. The sound, graphics and and engine itself is absolutely epic, but Ubisoft didn’t take the time to flush out much in the way of content. This game could have been played through in a lot less time if there wasn’t so much rinse/repeat going on.

That been said, the story is extremely solid, there are plenty of interesting puzzles to solve and beautiful scenery to view thanks to the top notch engine. While this game may not be a must play from start to finish, it is definitely a great start to the series. I recommend if you do plan on playing through it to skip all the side missions and only play for the main story arc. You’ll find the game to be a lot more fun by skipping out on all the tedious, repetitive tasks such as saving citizens from muggings, or collecting feathers and actually getting to the Dexter-like assassinations.

Pros

  • Story:  The multi-timeline storyline is great, with several twists and turns along the way.
  • Gameplay:  Is very fun at first, but becomes boring thanks to repetitive missions and tedious side quests.
  • Graphics: One Word, Epic.
  • Sound: Good voice-overs; great soundtrack. No complaints here.

Cons

  • Difficulty: Too bloody easy, you’re like Superman, Invincible.
  • RepetitiveThe biggest negative about Assassin’s Creed. Lots of content, but tons of duplicate content. No one likes doing the same things over and over and over again…
