A New Dimension in Gaming

 

Sony is releasing the first 3DTV patch for the Playstation 3 on June 3rd. But let's get the bad news out of the way first, this patch is going live first... (dramatic pause) ...in Asia. We are still awaiting a release date for the patch in North America, but with the first update out the door it's only a matter of time (unless of course, I'm sure, you're in Australia).

The first game to receive the Stereoscopic 3D treatment is the acclaimed Playstation Network game: "Pain". The game where you catapult various oddly dressed characters into painful, hilarious and humiliating obstacles. Also with this patch, there will be two new challenges that are created for 3DTVs. Not all previously released modes will be available in 3D (atleast, right away) but Sony Korea has yet to say which will be enabled. Regardless, pretty nifty stuff all around, 3D console gaming is definitely coming relatively soon!
