Sony PS3 adopting Stereoscopic 3D in 2010

PS3 3D - Stereoscopic 3D

This is great news! Sony will be providing 2 firmware updates in 2010 to add Stereoscopic 3D to games and movies on already existing PS3 consoles. The first firmware update will add support for S3D games and the second update will provide support for S3D movies.

For those of you who don't know, I've been toying around with S3D for months with Nvidia's Geforce 3D Vision on my computer, and I can tell you first hand it's absolutely amazing.  The transition between 2D and 3D is so powerful, you'll want to weep with tears when you see how real games like Crysis or Left 4 Dead 2 look in S3D.

Sony is making a giant leap for us gamers who seek more virtual worlds through their decision to add stereoscopic 3d to the Playstation 3.

Remember when everyone got Hi-def, everyone always said:

"Once you go HD, you never go back"

well the same is true for:

"Once you go S3D, you never go back".
